Renault’s flagship SUV, Koleos, has been launched and can now be viewed in selected Renault showrooms starting this weekend (15 – 16 October 2016). As previously announced, Tan Chong Euro Cars (TCEC), the Malaysia franchise holder of Renault vehicles, will sell the Renault Koleos at an introductory price of RM 172,800 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM 116,800 in Langkawi (on the road, without insurance and for private registration).
During this weekend, the public can explore and test drive the all-new Koleos (including the full range of Renault vehicles, like the Captur crossover, Fluence sedan and Clio GT Line hatchback). Those who complete a test drive will receive exclusive Renault merchandise.
The 2.5L engine (170 PS & 226 Nm) and X-Tronic CVT are also shared with the X-Trail; 200 Nm of the engine’s torque is available from as low as 1,800 rpm for better response at low and mid-range engine speeds. 0 – 100 km/h timing is 9.5 seconds and speed tops out at 200 km/h. The Koleos comes only in 2WD option (front-wheel drive) which will save on weight and fuel consumption; 4WD capabilities are seldom used in this market segment.
While the X-Trail is a 7-seater SUV, the Koleos comes with only seating for 5. This allows for a more generous rear knee room of 289mm, as well as a good amount of head, shoulder and elbow room. The large modular boot with numerous handy storage solutions swallows 550 liters, more with the 60:40 folding rear seats down.
Key equipment includes full LED Pure Vision headlights with dynamic C-shaped daytime running lights, 18″ Argonaute alloy wheels, R-LINK 2 multimedia system with an 8.7″ display that offers tactile functions like a tablet, instrument display with 7″ customizable color screen and ambient lighting.
The Koleos also features a host of safety features including 6 airbags (2 adaptive front airbags, 2 lateral thorax/shoulder airbags for front occupants, 2 curtain airbags), hill-start assist, electronic stability control, traction control, blind spot warning system, reverse camera, anti-whiplash front and rear head rests, anti-submarining front seats and rear ISOFIX anchorage for i-Size child seats, while all seat belts are equipped with pretensioners and load limiters.
The Renault Koleos is available in 4 colours – Universal White, Grey Metallic, Black Metallic and Meissen Blue.
Like all Renault mainstream vehicles, the all-new Koleos comes with a 5-year full manufacturer’s warranty with unlimited mileage.
