It’s a subtle update but change is good, if we were to paraphrase.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door coupe V8 has been given a mid-life cycle update following the recent refresh of its V6 counterparts.
The refreshed V8 models are now equipped with an individually-designed front apron that is also worn by the range-topping AMG GT 63 S E Performance. The outer air intakes have been made wider and sharper towards the centre of the car with the airflow now channelled through three vertical fins to the radiators.
Like the refreshed V6s, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door coupe can also be had in Spectral Blue metallic and Spectral Blue Magno. This gives the customer a choice of a total of four matt paints, four metallic shades and two solid colours.
Buyers can also choose between two exclusive paint finishes in the form of the new AMG Night Package II or a combination of the Night Package and Carbon Package. The interior has also been tweaked with the addition of new colours and trims inlcuding an AMG Performance steering wheel.
Opting for the AMG Special Edition in AMG Green Light Magno paint, adds a high‑gloss black and dark chrome, black foiling above the side sills and 21” AMG forged wheels in a five‑twin‑spoke design. For a sportier stance, there are optional AMG Aerodynamics Package and AMG Exterior Carbon packages. The interior is bolstered with sports seats in exclusive nappa leather in two-tone titanium grey pearl/black with yeallow stitching or optional AMG Performance seats and AMG trim elements in a black piano lacquer look. If you ask politely, you can have those in carbon. A panoramic roof can be fitted as optional. There is also an Edition badge in the interior with illuminated door-sill panels that match the exterior shade.
The luxurious AMG Special Edition with paintwork in the dark gemstone shade Manufaktur Rubellite Red metallic is also available as an option for the AMG GT 4-Door Coupé. This includes an AMG Exterior Chrome package as well as silver-painted, high‑sheen and 21” AMG forged wheels also in a five‑twin‑spoke design.
Available as an option is a High‑Class rear suite that consists of comfortable individual seats, high-quality ambience and easy access to comprehensive infotainment functions and comfort features. Interior equipment includes seat upholstery in Manufaktur Exclusive nappa leather in neva grey/black and trim elements in open‑pore grey ash wood plus an AMG‑specific Manufaktur steering wheel in two colours of fine nappa leather.
Underneath, the 4.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine soldiers on in the GT 63 with 430 kW and 800 Nm with the S variant shaking thingls up to 470 Nm and 900 Nm. Both models accelerate from a stop to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and 3.2 seconds respectively while shuffling through an AMG Speedshift MCT 9G that sends power to both axles via a 4Matic+ system.
