New financial year price hikes across the board for British off-road SUV
Land Rover Australia has quietly lifted the prices of its Land Rover Defender 90 and 110 model line-ups as part of an ‘MY23.5’ update, which appears to bring no extra standard equipment but price hikes that get bigger the further up the respective ranges you go.
A full pricing breakdown is below but, in summary, Defender 90 prices are up by between $1410 and $5820 depending on the variant, while the Defender 110’s increases span $1960-$5970.

The hikes have elevated the Defender 90’s entry price to $81,950 (+$1410) plus on-road costs for the P300, and have pushed the range-topping V8 variant beyond the $220,000 mark, with a new figure of $221,300 plus ORCs (+$5820).
It’s a similar story with the five-door Land Rover Defender 110, except for the fact the base P300 is now $2460 more expensive than before at $84,350 plus ORCs; the V8 flagship has gone up $5970 to $226,500 plus ORCs.
Numbers buffs will probably have worked out that even the biggest jumps correlate to less than a three per cent price increase, but JLR Australia is yet to advise why the prices have gone up.

The most likely culprits are the rising materials, production and shipping costs being faced by all car-makers at the moment, but nevertheless carsales has contacted the brand’s PR department for confirmation and will update this report accordingly.
Given that local pricing has only just been announced for the stretched Land Rover Defender 130 eight-seater and it’s yet to arrive Down Under, off-road fans will be pleased to hear it’s been exempt from the latest price increases.
