Former Indian cricketer Praveen Kumar had a narrow escape from a potentially disastrous accident in Meerut city, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred on Tuesday when Praveen was driving his Land Rover Defender luxury SUV accompanied by his son. Their vehicle collided with a speeding canter near the commissioner’s residence in the Pandav Nagar area. Fortunately, both Praveen Kumar and his son emerged from the accident unharmed, despite the severe damage inflicted upon their car. The local Civil Line Police promptly responded to the scene and apprehended the canter driver involved in the collision.
Expressing his relief, Praveen Kumar acknowledged that the outcome could have been far worse. He recounted the incident, stating, “It could have been a lot worse. By the grace of god we are okay and I am talking to you. I had gone to drop my nephew, but a massive truck hit my car from behind around 9:30 pm. Thank God it was a big car, else there could have been injuries.” The former pacer revealed that he initially believed only the bumper would be damaged, but upon inspection, it became apparent that the car had sustained significant harm.
