Land Rover has finally launched the Defender 130 SUV in India and this 8-seater behemoth of an SUV is priced between Rs 1.30 Crore to Rs 1.41 Crore (Ex-showroom, India).
At present, the newly launched Land Rover Defender 130 SUV is available in two trim levels – HSE and X. On top of that, the newly launched 8-seater premium SUV is available with both petrol and diesel engine options.
That being said, the newly launched Land Rover Defender 130 is the largest body style among the Defender line-up, and it is the only premium SUV in India that can seat 8 people. Furthermore, it competes against the likes of the BMW X7 and Meredes-Benz GLS in the country.
Coming to the powertrain specifications, the 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine (P400) puts out 394.5bhp of peak power and 550Nm of peak torque. In comparison, the 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine (D300) puts out 295.9bhp of peak power and 650Nm of peak torque.
Furthermore, both engine options sport mild-hybrid assistance and come mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard. It is also worth mentioning that the Land Rover Defender 130 gets full-time 4WD and air suspension as standard.
In terms of features, the new Land Rover Defender 130 comes with a new 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system equipped with Pivi-Pro software, a fully digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, wireless charging, Meridian audio system, 14-way electrically adjustable front seats, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and much more.
Other stand-out features include matrix LED headlights, large 20-inch wheels, a 4-zone climate control system, and a huge 2,516-litre boot space (last two rows folded). The latter is courtesy of adding an additional 340mm of metal behind the rear axle compared to the Defender 110.
