On August 30th, Alfa Romeo will officially unveil the highly anticipated successor to the iconic 1967 Alfa 33 Stradale, rumoured to be named “6C.” While specific details about the upcoming model remain scarce, hints from Alfa Romeo’s CEO, Jean-Phillipe Imparato, suggest that it may house the revered twin-turbo V6 power plant.
Imporato expressed his excitement for the project, stating, “This endeavour is a realisation of a dream, driven by a passionate team determined to create something truly exceptional.”
As Alfa Romeo prepares to introduce a new flagship model, its CEO sheds light on the future of its high-performance division. Imporato emphasises that the potency of Quadrifoglio-branded vehicles will remain uncompromised. He previously mentioned that these electric vehicles will boast power outputs exceeding 670 kW and utilise wireless charging technology. The 6C supercar, constructed on a carbon fibre monocoque, will feature a mid-engined configuration.

In an interview with Autocar, Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, Alfa Romeo’s Head of Design, shared insights into the visual direction of Alfa Romeo’s forthcoming models, but it seems as if there is a clear intention by the automaker’s head honchos to retain the firm’s current DNA.
“We have to be careful how much inspiration we take from the past – as designers, a little like chefs, to mix classic ingredients into a ‘new sauce’ that today’s generation will respond to. But the Coda Tronca will be a useful ingredient for us, and you will see it on several future models.”

Drawing inspiration from the Alfa Romeo models from the 1980s and 1990s, he stated, “Our next-generation cars will incorporate the iconic Coda Tronca into their modern design language, not only to enhance aerodynamic efficiency and range but also to infuse the vehicles with a distinctively classic Alfa Romeo design character.”
