The Alfa Romeo Tonale is the latest in Italian style in the form of a crossover SUV, but is it a 7-seater?
The Alfa Romeo Tonale signifies a metamorphosis for the Italian brand while keeping to the traditional Alfa Romeo flair. My colleague Sean Nurse had the Tonale on test, and you can read his thoughts here.
The Tonale target market is the metropolitan youth. It has all the practicality of a crossover SUV but dares to be dynamic. There’s slick Alfa Romeo design language inside and out, a modern hybrid powertrain focusing on performance and ultimate efficiency. Technology is aplenty in the Tonale, too, in the form of Level 2 autonomous driving Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and convenience features like the Human Machine Interface, which consists of two large displays totalling 22.5″. Connectivity sorted, the cabin is sports-focused yet intuitive and comfortable. Passengers can also travel in style and comfort with ample space and entertainment. It’s pretty good for families. With this in mind, is the Tonale a 7-seater?
Great! Is the Alfa Romeo Tonale a 7-seater?
No, it’s not. While the Tonale is a comfortable cocoon, let’s discuss the seating arrangements. In total, the Tonale only has seating for five passengers. You can fit five adults total in the Tonale with its seating arrangement. The boot area doesn’t have extra seating despite the 500-1550 litre boot space capacity, and the rear seats split in 60/40 fashion. You can fit two baby seats on the outer edges of the rear seats with the standard ISOFIX child seat anchors if you need to. If you’re sold on an Alfa Romeo Tonale after reading this, you can search AutoTrader for the latest used and new offerings.
