The Alfa Romeo Tonale is the Italian manufacturer's smaller SUV option for the more lifestyle centric youth. With lifestyle in mind though, can you fit a bicycle into the Tonale? We'll answer that here.
The Alfa Romeo Tonale is the smaller SUV offering in the Italian manufacturer’s stable, second to the mighty Stelvio. My colleague Sean Nurse reviewed the Tonale, and you can read his thoughts here.
Due to its SUV nature, the Tonale is naturally spacious and ergonomic, with sufficient head and legroom. While there’s still an element of this vehicle having a driver-focused interior, comfort and practicality take priority here. The infotainment and various instruments point towards the driver and the utilisation of space in the interior is well executed. We checked if you could fit three baby seats in the back of the Tonale. With all this space in mind though, can you fit a bicycle into the Tonale?
Great! Can you fit a bicycle into the Alfa Romeo Tonale?
Yes, you can. Here’s our reasoning: The Tonale has a generous 500-litre boot, which can be expanded to 1550 litres when the rear seats are folded flat. Regarding form factor, the boot has a flat floor, and the lid protrudes out, making it easier to close when the vehicle is loaded. When looking at bicycle sizing, you should be able to easily fit a 26-29 inch bicycle with the seats folded. The boot area may be slightly narrow for some bicycles, but it can be easily solved by removing your bicycle’s front wheel to make fitting in the boot much easier. If you’re sold on the Tonale after reading this, you can search AutoTrader for the latest used and new offerings.
