The Alfa Romeo Tonale boasts technology and connectivity but how do you connect your Android Phone to the Tonale? We'll tell you here.
The Alfa Romeo Tonale signifies a change in the brand that looks to the future of mobility with character but also maintains that traditional Alfa Romeo DNA. My colleague, Sean Nurse, had the Tonale on review, and you can read his thoughts here.
The Tonale comes standard with a 12.3-inch screen and a main 10.25-inch touchscreen unit. This forms part of a new infotainment system equipped with the Human Machine Interface for the best user interaction. There’s been an emphasis placed on smartphone connectivity in the Tonale, as even the 10.25-inch screen is inspired by the latest smartphones. The system is optimised to work with widgets and graphical components to be as intuitive as possible. It’s simply drag and drop with the Tonale with even user-created home pages. Apart from all this, here are the top 3 things you need to know about the Tonale. Now, how do you connect your Android Phone with the Tonale, though?
Nice! How do I connect my Android phone to my Tonale, though?
You can connect your Android phone via Bluetooth if you want just basic phone call and music functionality. To connect your phone, in the Tonale’s infotainment screen, navigate to the vehicle settings and under the Bluetooth menu, you can add a new device. Follow the onscreen prompts on your phone and the Tonale’s infotainment screen to connect your phone.
If you wish to use Android Auto, unfortunately, there’s no wireless functionality, but you can use Android Auto in wired mode. All you need is either a USB-A or USB-C cable to connect to the ports found at the bottom of the centre console stack. Once plugged in, follow the on-screen prompts on both devices to activate Android Auto.
