Mercedes-AMG has given us our first proper look at its fettled C-Class.
The high-performance arm of Mercedes-Benz uploaded a short video to Twitter that partially shows the undisguised front of the new AMG C-Class, with its LED headlights turning on and off.
There’s no audio in the teaser video, which could hint to the electrified powertrains of the AMG C-Class line-up.
Part of Mercedes-AMG’s trademark Panamericana grille can be seen, plus a lower air intake that appears to be slightly larger than the regular Mercedes-Benz C-Class which launched locally in March 2022.

Mercedes-AMG hasn’t specified whether this is the C43 or the hot plug-in hybrid C63.
It’s likely the former, as we’ve previously reported the C43 (or C53, as it may be known) would be revealed first and we expect the C63 to feature a more aggressive front fascia with larger side air intakes.
At this stage it’s unclear when Mercedes-AMG will reveal this new-generation AMG C-Class, with it saying there’s “more coming soon”.
Under the bonnet of the upcoming C43 will be an electrified four-cylinder powertrain that’s expected to be similar to the one used in the SL 43 convertible.
This entry-level roadster is powered by a longitudinally-mounted M139 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four-cylinder engine producing 280kW of power and 480Nm of torque.
There’s also a 48V mild-hybrid system that powers an electrically-controlled exhaust gas turbocharger, small electric motor and belt-driven starter generator capable of producing an additional 10kW for short periods of time.
For context, the outgoing C43 is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 producing 287kW and 520Nm, mated with a 4Matic all-wheel drive system.
As previously detailed, the C63 will adopt a turbocharged four-cylinder PHEV powertrain which’ll use a version of the M139 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine from the AMG A45.

Mercedes-AMG says the total power and torque from this new electrified powertrain will surpass current “comparable” models with non-hybrid V8 engines.
The current C63 S is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 375kW and 700Nm.
Mercedes-AMG has previously been spied testing both sedan and wagon versions of the upcoming AMG C-Class.
It’s worth mentioning though that Mercedes-Benz isn’t going to be offering the regular C-Class in All-Terrain and Estate body styles in Australia due to decreasing demand.

Going off the new-generation C-Class and previous spy photos, the new AMG C-Class is expected to have a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 11.9-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system with dedicated AMG screen modes and content.
This interior is heavily inspired by the new-generation S-Class sedan.
There’ll also be a flat-bottomed AMG-branded steering wheel, a point of difference in comparison with the regular C-Class.
