Alfa Romeo has announced new limited-edition “Estrema” models of its 2023 Giulia and Stelvio, which will start at $66,995 and $68,495, respectively, when they go on sale in Canada in the third quarter of 2022.
The company said it is the first time Alfa Romeo has made a limited-edition model that is available globally. The Estrema is based on the top-line Veloce trim, and provides a step between that and the high-performance Quadrifoglio by borrowing its adaptive suspension and limited-slip differential.
The two Estrema models use the turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder from the Giulia and Stelvio, making 280 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, and both have all-wheel-drive. The Stelvio handles zero to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, while the Giulia gets it done in 5.1 seconds.
The Estrema models include a grille and mirror caps in carbon-fibre veneer, gloss black window trim, and gloss-black wheels that are 19 inches on the Giulia; and 21 inches on the Stelvio. A staggered wheel package is available for both.
The interior includes a standard leather dash and door panels, along with carbon-fibre accents similar to those of the Quadrifoglio. The models also include a dual-pane sunroof, wireless charger, and 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
The limited-edition models will come in exterior colours of Alfa White, Alfa Rosso, Misano Blue, or Vulcano Black, and dealers are now taking orders for them.
