First manufactured in Bologna, Italian carmaker Maserati is known for its premium, luxury vehicles. The Maserati brothers initially founded this company to build race cars and released the Maserati Marque.
In 1999, Ferrari took over Maserati and laid the rivalry to rest. Maserati entered India in 2011 and has since been one of the most luxurious cars in the Indian market. In India, the Maserati lineup has five cars: the Levante, Quattroporte, Ghibli, and the GranTurismo.
If you’re a Maserati enthusiast and on the lookout for its next launch, 2023 is the year for you! Maserati is expected to launch two cars in India, the Maserati MC 20 and the Maserati Kubang, priced at ₹3.50 crores and ₹1 crore, respectively.
What’s to love about the Maserati?
There are not one but three primary reasons why we love this brand. Here’s a quick look into why buying a Maserati means more than just luxury.
Character-rich History
Buying a Maserati is more than just buying a car; it’s an heirloom and, quite simply, a piece of history. Maserati became a brand as early as 1914 but had to wait till the First World War ended to start producing vehicles.
Now, over 100 years later, each classic Maserati produced is nothing short of stunning and famously sold as a collector’s item. For instance, a 1955 Maserati 300 S shattered auction records in 2013 by getting sold for $6.5 billion.
State-of-the-art Electronics
Ever since Maserati started selling cars, it ensured that its cars were fitted with premium technology and the best-ever electronics systems. For instance, Maserati cars have a 14-speaker, 900-watt Harman Kardon audio system, except the Maserati Ghibli, that uses a Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System.
However, these features extend beyond entertainment and offer safety through Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) and other features like Skyhook performance suspension with electronic damping control.
Available but Exclusive
Maserati has always created cars with the intent of it being an experience. Owning a Maserati often feels like a luxury club membership because very few of these cars are produced. A classic example of this is Maserati’s MC 12 Corsa. The Italian brand made only 50 of this car’s model, so only this number would ever feature on any road worldwide. Fascinating, eh?
What’s hot with Maserati in 2023?
