Stray animals and cattle cause a lot of accidents in India and this is not a new phenomenon. On the highways, we get to see many such animals that got hit by vehicles. Here is a video of a Maserati GranTurismo hitting a street dog. Do you think that this is a deliberate attempt to hit the dog or it was an accident?

The video shows a Maserati GranTurismo taking a U-Turn. The driver can be spotted alone inside the car and he is clearly talking on the mobile phone, which is a violation of the law. The video also shows that there is a dog running after the vehicle. It sure is a common sight as well.
However, the Maserati driver continued to drive the vehicle. The video shows that the car had hit the dog while accelerating. The street dog got up scared from the spot and started running.
Do you think the Maserati driver hit the dog deliberately or was it an accident? After watching the video, we think that the car driver did not see the dog and continued to drive.
Challan served to the owner
According to the information available, the police have already issued a challan to the driver. Various sections were invoked to issue the challan. The driver was booked under IPC 429 and 279 sections. Also, additional sections of the Motor Vehicle Act and animal cruelty were invoked.
Most Indian roads are full of stray animals and cattle. One should be very careful while driving on the roads. Most street dogs run after the vehicles because of the sound they make. If you spot a dog ahead, keep an eye on the animal and make sure that you do not run over it.
Here are a few tips that can keep you safe on the road:
- Slow down when you see a stray animal on the road.
- Animals, especially dogs can be unpredictable and move in any direction.
- Slow down while crossing cities at night.
- Stray animals are often difficult to spot in dark and can cause massive accidents at high-speeds
- Always use the horn to alert the animal in front of you, most the animals respond to the sound better than headlamps.
Digital challans based on video
Just like a video was enough to book the Maserati driver, one should know that such digital challans have become a norm nowadays.
The police have started sending challans online so they do not need any physical presence at the time of the incident. A small clip of the violation or even CCTV footage is enough evidence for the cops to book the violator.
Even if you upload your own video while violating a traffic law or rule, you can receive a challan from the police. Doing any kind of stunts on public roads is illegal and the violators can even go to jail along with paying massive fines. Doing stunts on public roads can land you in a spot due to various reasons. If anyone wants to practice stunting or want to record videos, it should be done on private property such as race tracks and even farmhouses. Also, one should take note that such stunts are extremely dangerous.
