The Maserati Grecale is the smaller sibling of the Levante and the Trident’s second SUV model. It benefits from the engineering of the Innovation Lab in Modena for aerodynamics and performance.
In this teaser, the Grecale’s light camouflage reveals more of its actual looks. We can see the typical Maserati grille with vertical slats, more upright-oriented headlights, large air intakes, red brake calipers, and quad exhaust tips which hint at performance.
However, no details are available on the powertrain but it can be speculated to share the Alfa Romeo Stelvio’s choices of 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo with 280 hp and 415 Nm, and 2.9L twin turbo V6 with 505 hp and 600 Nm. Perhaps the 630 hp V6 Nettuno engine from the MC20 might be an option too. And with the current trend, we can expect at least one electrified version of the Grecale. The Grecale will come from the assembly plant in Cassino, Italy, where the Stelvio is also built.
The teaser livery also hints at the SUV’s specifications such as the Maserati Intelligent Assistant, digital cockpit, and storage space. The coordinates printed on the livery point to the Palazzina dei Giardini art museum in Modena. The clearest message is “Ciao. I’m the Maserati Grecale. I can’t tell you much more”.
The global premiere of the Maserati Grecale is scheduled for 22 March 2022.
