When the name Jeep pops up on television or radio, only one thing comes to everyone’s mind- it’s the off-road capability of the vehicles from the brand. That’s because of the legacy that Jeep has established many decades ago. But the hype for it did not begin in a matter of years.

The demand for their vehicles began the day Willy’s made working prototypes of an off-road combat vehicle for the U.S. Military in the early ’40s The vehicles they made were so much in sync with what the US army wanted that they saw action in World War II. Do note that it was post-war that the name Jeep stuck on with those mean machines.

Today, a Jeep is not only a lifestyle statement in the US but is also a unique identity in the off-roading world. It’s known as the king of hardcore off-roading. The brand even reached the Indian shores officially back in 2016. Its first made-in-India was the fun-loaded Jeep Compass. The Compass checked all the boxes of what the Indian Jeep fanatics wanted for a long time.

Moreover, it even has the potential to beat the Mahindra Thar in a drag race. Even so, we are not drawing a conclusion here that the Thar is unworthy. Well, the Thar has in the past defeated many big SUVs in their natural habitat, the tug of war grounds! Speaking of which, what about a tug of war between a Jeep Compass and a Mahindra Thar?

The Mahindra Thar comes with a powerful mHawk130 Engine. The engine has the capacity to generate an output of 130bhp of power at 3750rpm. It also produces a massive 300Nm of torque between 1600-2800rpm.

Now compared to the Jeep Compass, the Mahindra Thar produces lower torque and power delivery. So, the winner on paper is the Jeep Compass as it has better power figures.

Round 1

With the prep work out of the way, the first round of the tug of war begins and quite instantly we can see the Thar tugging the Compass without any hesitance

The battle between the two SUVs will prove which of the two has better off-road capacity. So, the YouTuber quickly preps the two vehicles for the event. As soon as the prep work got over, it was time for the challenge to begin. And on the count of three, the tug of war commences.

The Jeep compass gets defeated in round one quite easily by the Mahindra Thar

Do note that the Mahindra Thar is in 2WD Mode and the traction is set at “ON”. The same is the case with the Jeep Compass. Despite this, the Jeep Compass struggles to pull the Thar towards itself. The Thar on the other side did not even break a sweat. It easily tugs the Jeep Compass towards its end.

Surprisingly, the underpowered Thar claims victory in round one of the battles.

Round two begins on a similar note, the Thar and Compass in 2WD mode but this time unlike round one, the Traction Control System is turned OFF
