Land Rover has officially opened up orders for the 2023 “New Range Rover” family, including the Extended-Range Plug-in Hybrid SUV and their flagship SV model.
The 2023 New Range Rover P440e Extended Range PHEV will start at $106,250 after destination fees. While official EPA numbers are yet to be announced, Land Rover estimates an electric-only range of 48 miles. It will offer 50 kW DC rapid charging architecture, allowing the vehicle to recoup up to 80 percent in under an hour.
The New Range Rover is available in a number of configurations, including SE, Autobiography and SV models; a limited First Edition model will be available during the first year of production. The family of vehicles will also present options for four, five and seven-seat interiors across Standard and Long Wheelbase options. Customers will be able to select from a variety of six-cylinder hybrid powertrain options; however, the New Range Rover SV will come standard with an all-new twin-turbo V8.
The SV is the flagship model, starting at $188,200 after destination charges. The aforementioned 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 is capable of 523 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds. Top speed maxes out at a blistering 162 mph.
Outside of raw performance, the SV takes the New Range Rover’s luxury above and beyond, available as either Standard or Long Wheelbase options and with a five-seat LWB configuration for the first time. All together, Land Rover claims that the new SV can be customized into more than 1.6 million combinations.
The exterior is spearheaded by a unique front bumper and five-bar grille, surrounded by laser-etched SV roundels of the side gills and optional 23-inch directional wheels. Inside, occupants will find a cabin made of plated metals, ceramics, sustainably sourced woods, soft near-aniline leather and sustainable non-leather Ultrafabrics.
Land Rover also teased an upcoming all-electric Range Rover, which is expected to debut sometime in 2024. This is another step by Jaguar Land Rover towards their goal of pure-electrification by the end of the decade.
