Land Rover has launched an exclusive set of 25 classic Defender Works V8 Trophy II vehicles, hand-built by a dedicated team by Land Rover Classic in England.
The limited-edition 4x4s are made using existing Land Rover models taken from 2012 to 2016, which are then stripped down and rebuilt from the ground up with several new additions to make this Defender an even more exceptional off-roader.
Hand-restored to perfection
Running on a 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine, the refurbished Defenders produce 298kW and 518Nm, which is transmitted to the front and rear axles through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The brakes and suspension have been upgraded, providing 500mm of wading depth, and it has also been fitted with all-terrain equipment like a front A-frame with an integrated winch, a 1.27-metre LED light bar, rock sliders, an expedition exterior roll cage, and a rear recovery point.
The body itself, meanwhile, is shod with 18-inch alloy wheels and a black-and-white camouflage which is unique for every model.
This camouflage design incorporates 23 of the most iconic locations the 4×4 has traveled to over the course of its 70-year lifespan, according to Land Rover.
For the interior, the new Defender sees two-tone Recaro Windsor Leather sports seats with contrast stitching, and the dashboard features an exclusive Elliot Brown clock face as well as an upgraded infotainment unit.
Open to order
The new Land Rover Defender Works V8 Trophy II can now be ordered directly from Land Rover Classic in the United Kingdom by any interested individual around the globe.
Only five of the 25 total units will be offered in a double-cab 110 body style, while the remaining 20 will provide a choice of 90 or 110 Station Wagon specifications.
Prices start from 225,000 pounds for the two-door 90 body style, which works out to R4.5 million at current exchange rates.
Every customer who purchases a Trophy II will be invited to take part in a specially devised three-day owner competition organized by the company.
The competition will involve a series of point-based off-road challenges, with a grand prize awaiting the winners when the event wraps up on the third day.
