FIAT has installed all of the necessary equipment to complete the development of its new small “crossover.” The FIAT Tipo Cross Station Wagon will be a reality, and it has already been spotted in the open. Only a five-door hatchback version of the Type Cross is currently available.
The relaunch of the FIAT Tipo line has given the compact a significant rise in sales. A model who has debuted significant new features that go much beyond a facelift. The arrival on the scene of the new FIAT Type Cross has been one of the defining factors in this generation’s ability to confront the rest of its commercial life and, above all, to adapt to the changing circumstances.
The new FIAT Tipo’s “crossover” variation is capturing the public’s attention. FIAT is aware of the circumstances, as well as the function that the new Type Cross has already assumed. As a result, it will strengthen its commitment to this version by making it available in the family body variation as well. That’s correct, the FIAT Type Station Wagon will be a crossover vehicle as well.
New FIAT Tipo Cross Station Wagon spy images
In broad daylight, a well-camouflaged test specimen was discovered. It may appear to be a standard Type Station Wagon at first glance. However, given that the development process for the renewal of the family compact has already been finished, the only project on which the brand may have launched is its Cross version, which is neither more nor less than its predecessor.
On the front and rear, there is a lot of camouflage. It’s only natural that this is the case, given that FIAT needs to conceal the model’s distinguishing traits. Some fenders made of plastic that will protect the lower body. The bumpers and roof bars will add to the Tipo Cross Station Wagon’s daring appearance.
Using the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack formula as a model
It will be available in showrooms in 2022 and will exclusively be front-wheel drive. A variety of gasoline and diesel engines will be available for the new Tipo Cross Station Wagon. There will be a 100-horsepower 1.0-liter T3 engine, as well as a 95-horsepower 1.3 Multijet engine and a 130-horsepower 1.6 Multijet engine.
Also, Fiat is bringing back the Scudo and Ulysse, two large-capacity vehicles. The two arrivals, on the other hand, are old friends from the Stellantis realm.
The two Fiat models have a range that is based on the sibling series. The Fiat Scudo is a commercial vehicle that comes in three lengths: sheet metal box, glazed van, and a combination of the two. The Ulysse is the automobile variant, having seats for six to nine people.
Electric motors and diesel engines
Scudo and Ulysse have the same well-known driving choices as their sister models. Diesel engines with a power range of 102 to 177 hp are available on the combustion side. Both variants will be equipped with the well-known 100 kW and 260 Nm electric powertrain, which will be compatible with the 50 and 75 kWh battery capacities. Between 230 and 330 kilometers is the range.
Between 1994 and 2012, the Fiat Scudo and Ulysse shared a platform with PSA vehicles. The Stellantis Group’s partners have reunited once again. The Fiat models are also produced at the WPSA facility in Hordain, France.
Prices and a precise market debut date have yet to be determined.
Fiat has joined the huge Stellantis family of vans on the EMP2 platform with the return of the Scudo and Ulysse variants. The technology is well-known, and the design has been tweaked to fit the Fiat brand.
