- Does the BAIC Beijing X55 have heated seats?
Looking to warm your behind on those chilly winter mornings? Find out if the BAIC Beijing X55 has this luxury feature.
The BAIC Beijing X55 is the compact SUV that has South Africa in a spin, and of the questions we get asked most often, is whether it has heated seats. If you live in one of the colder parts of SA, heated seats are invaluable, especially if you have lower back issues or if you really feel the cold worse than other people do – I hate the winter because my feet and hands are always frozen! Those seats are a lifesaver – if I have a press car with heated seats I sometimes just sit in the car to warm myself up.
This is what the BAIC Beijing X55 line-up looks like in SA:
BAIC Beijing X55 1.5T Dynamic | R394 900 |
BAIC Beijing X55 1.5T Elite | R424 900 |
BAIC Beijing X55 1.5T Premium | R454 900 |
This red Beijing X55 is the 1.5T Elite model.
The Dynamic model, albeit the most affordable, is still rather generously specified, making it an immensely good value package. Features include an automated dual-clutch 7DCT gearbox, ABS, EBD, electromechanical parking brake, hill-start assist, stability control, hill-descent control, a tyre pressure sensor, 6 airbags, climate control, a multi-function steering wheel, touchscreen, cruise control, USB ports in the front and rear, keyless start and entry, child locks, electric windows x 4, rain-sensing wipers, electrically adjustable mirrors, artificial leather seats, a front armrest, ISOFIX on the outer rear seats, heated rear screen, LED DRLs, light-sensing headlamps, and rear-park distance control along with a rearview camera.
The Elite model adds an electric boot lid, roof rails, heated and foldable exterior mirrors, a sliding panoramic sunroof, and electric seat adjustment for the driver and front passenger.
The Premium model gets the pick of the features with mood lighting, park distance control in the front as well as the rear (to supplement the parking cameras), and those coveted heated and ventilated seats in the front.
The Premium model also has genuine leather seats, not faux leather like the other models.
Verdict
The short answer is yes, but only if you buy the flagship model for R454 900. Or, you can always search AutoTrader for a pre-loved BAIC Beijing X55, here.
