PARIS: Citroën seems not only keen to give its C3 Picasso multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) a new look, but also wants to move it out of its current MPV segment and have it competing with compact sport utility vehicles – hence the C-Aircross concept.
The French carmaker will be debuting its latest creativity at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show and the company says that this vehicle heralds the company’s global offensive in the SUV sector.
It’s 4,150m-long, 1,740mm-wide and 1,630mm-tall, which comes equipped with front LED split-level lighting – main headlights below and daytime running lights integrated into the grille above, and the rear 3D lights.
There are air inlets located in the front bumper, air outlets built into the side door guards, diffuser and spoiler at the rear and two side and one rear camera installed.
At the side, there are ‘opposing opening doors’ that allows access to the cabin and includes rear-hinged doors at the back for better accessibility.
The dashboard is elevated and is one-piece that’s paired with the four suspended and raised contoured seats with Alcantara and quilt-effect with plenty of light entering from its large windows and panoramic sunroof to fill the cabin.
Other fitments include a colour heads-up display, single-spoke steering wheel with intuitive controls, rear facing cameras and wireless induction charging for smartphones and 12-inch touchscreen with driving information and infotainment updates.
The lower centre console extends from the front seats right through to the rear, and boasts a number of useful storage spaces.
It will also come equipped with the company’s Connect Nav – a 3D connected navigation system with voice recognition, Mirror Screen functionality, ConnectedCAM and ‘Share with U’ app.
Other goodies include front and rear headrests with built-in speakers and microphones to communicate with the other passengers and five driving modes of standard, sand, off-road, snow, and electronic stability programme off.
