PETALING JAYA: A 32-year-old Chinese national escaped death after his Maserati Quattroporte crashed into a side railing on an elevated portion of the SPRINT Highway and burst into flames before plunging to the road below.
Selangor Fire and Rescue department director Othman Abdullah said a team of six fire fighters were deployed to the scene at KM3.7 of the SPRINT highway after a distress call was received at about 3.20am on Tuesday.
The team reached the scene five minutes later.
“The car was completely destroyed in the blaze, but the driver managed to escape safely,” he said.
It is learnt that the driver, who is believed to be a businessman, had escaped through the rear window after failing to open the front door, before the car fell onto the road below.
