Bangalore-based EV manufacturer Ultraviolette has revealed the F99 Factory Racing platform. The Ultraviolette F99 takes the Bangalore-based manufacturer’s EV platform to the track with an electric bike capable of hitting 200km/h.
The F99 unlike the F77 is limited to the race track as it cuts the excess weight, gets a bit more aero bits and softer compound tyres as it bids to show off its track prowess.
The Ultraviolette F99 gets a host of upgrades over the road-sec F77 including a whole lot more power from the electric motor. Unlike the F77 which is limited to just 30.2kW in the most powerful Limited guise, the F99 ups the power levels to 50kW or 65bhp. Ultraviolette claims that the power-packed F99 will be able to hit a top speed of 200km/h on the track.
Other changes come in the form of aerodynamic upgrades in the form of a new faceplate that replaces the headlight, winglets on the sides of the bike and aero disks. The rims are now shod with softer compound tyres while the rider triangle is now more track-oriented with the seat using stiffer and slimmer foam.
The Ultraviolette F99 also sports hydraulic disc brakes with dual-channel ABS from Bosch. The discs are clamped down by 4-piston callipers at the front and single-piston callipers at the rear.
The F99 also makes use of quite a number of carbon composite bits that help it shed any excess weight. The Ultraviolette F99 sports a dual-tone paint job combo of Meteor Grey and Plasma Red.
Speaking at the unveiling of the F99 at Auto Expo 2023, Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO, Ultraviolette, said, “The world of racing is extremely challenging as it forces the vehicle to be pushed beyond its limit, and this is what leads to innovation. We are confident that the innovation emerging from the F99 Factory Racing Platform will make its way to the public in the future. By combining aviation and racing principles, we intend to bring the most advanced electric vehicles to the world.”
Niraj Rajmohan, Co-founder and CTO, Ultraviolette added, “The tremendous response for the F77 is a result of Ultraviolette’s cutting-edge technology and industry-first features. We will continue to be the leaders in technology innovation in the EV space, and the F99 Factory Racing Platform will pursue this mission. With the most advanced powertrain architecture and battery tech coming out of India, we want to be at the forefront of innovation globally.
