Jaguar Land Rover Australia is recalling 205 examples of its Land Rover Discovery and Defender and Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Range Rover Velar because a camshaft carrier oil leak may cause a vehicle fire.
This recall affects Discovery, Defender, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Velar examples produced between 2022 and 2023.
“Due to a manufacturing issue, the camshaft carrier oil gallery may not have been drilled to specification,” said the company in its recall notice.
“This could cause an external oil leak or oil to be discharged into the engine air intake system. An oil leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.”
