Mahindra has released a limited-edition Adventure trim for the Scorpio SUV.
This rugged Mahindra has a South African price of R416,999, and features a unique set of bumpers that gives it the Adventure name.
In addition, it is sold in the S11 specification grade – which is the highest trim level in the Scorpio range.
The Scorpio S11 Adventure comes with bespoke steel bumpers that integrate into its body to make the SUV more durable, while also increasing entry, exit, and breakover angles.
The front bumper incorporates fog lights, a tow bar, recover hooks, and high-lift jacking points, too.
Hardened 17-inch alloy wheels and all-terrain tyres to enhance its off-road performance are also included.
Inside, the Mahindra Scorpio Adventure in S11 guise offers a leather multifunction steering wheel, partial-leather seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, all-round electric windows, and a reverse camera.
Furthermore, it sports a 7-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Under the hood of this Mahindra lies a 2.2-litre, turbo-diesel engine that connects to a six-speed manual transmission.
The motor’s 103kW and 320Nm are delivered to all four wheels, and the driver is able to switch between high-range and low-range gears at speeds of up to 100km/h.
Combined fuel consumption for this drivetrain comes in at 7.3l/100km, and a maximum braked towing capacity of 1,900kg is supported.
The ladder-frame chassis and suspension set-up further provide 165mm of ground clearance and a maximum water wading depth of 800mm, while the body supports up to 928 litres of cargo.
The market
With its extensive list of equipment and relatively affordable asking price, the Mahindra Scorpio Adventure will be the one to look out for in the lower end of the SUV market.
