Much like the larger XC90, the Volvo XC60 mid-size SUV has also seen a line-up refresh for MY23, with the range now consisting of Plus, Bright, Dark and Recharge variants.
Prices now start at $72,990 before on-roads for the Ultimate Plus, and peak at the top-of-the-range Recharge Ultimate T8 plug-in hybrid at $100,990 before on-road costs. The price jumps mean the Recharge is now $3000 more than before.
The Volvo XC60 competes with other mid-size luxury SUVs such as the BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Lexus NX.

Engine and powertrain options
The Volvo XC60 is available with three powertrain options.
The first is a 2.0-litre mild hybrid turbocharged four-cylinder petrol that produces 183kW/350Nm, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain is available for the Plus B5 entry-level model as well as the Ultimate B5 Bright variant.
Three engine tunes are available for the new 2022 Volvo XC60
Finally, the Recharge Ultimate T8 plug-in hybrid gains all-wheel drive as well as a much more potent petrol/electric powertrain that produces combined outputs of 340kW of power and 709Nm of torque.
The system for the flagship Recharge features an electric motor on the XC60’s rear axle. This motor produces 107kW/309Nm alone. To compare, this top-spec XC60 has more torque than the 650Nm BMW X3 M Competition and 9Nm more shove than the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 twin-turbo V8 hotrod.
