The new Jaguar F-Pace has been released with updated exterior styling, an all-new interior, and more engine options.
The updated F-Pace range is now available to order in South Africa at a starting price of R1.12 million.
Design
At the front, the new F-Pace receives a wider bonnet bulge, an enlarged grille, and redesigned air intakes with dark mesh detailing.
These design features are complemented by super-slim quad LED headlights.
The rear of the SUV then has a revised bumper design, a new tailgate, and slimline tail lights.
On the inside of the F-Pace is an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system surrounded by leather and a choice of wood or aluminium veneers.
Below this display is a leather drive selector with “cricket ball” stitching, and the leather treatment continues throughout the cabin onto the seats, steering wheel, and doors.
Features
A new infotainment system in the SUV controls many features on the F-Pace, such as the massaging function on the heated and cooled seats.
This system also allows for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. A wireless charging pad is standard, too.
Alongside the central infotainment display is then a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster which features a configurable layout that can show navigation maps, digital dials, and media.
The instrument display also works in conjunction with the heads-up display that is now included on every F-Pace.
In addition, active road noise cancellation was improved in the updated model – assuring a quiet cabin wherever you go.
Performance
The new F-Pace is available with two diesel engine and three petrol engines, all featuring all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The D200 model comes with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, diesel engine that produces 147kW and 430Nm, while the more powerful D300 has a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, diesel motor with 221kW and 700Nm.
In terms of the petrol options, a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, petrol motor that generates 184kW and 365Nm is fitted to the P250.
A more powerful 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, petrol engine is found in the P400, and boasts an output of 294kW and 550Nm.
A plug-in hybrid model is also available, and produces a combined 297kW and 640Nm from its petrol engine and electric motor.
This electric motor is powered by a 17.1kWh lithium-ion battery, allowing for 53km of pure electric driving range.
A combined fuel consumption of 2.2l/100km is then achieved by the hybrid model, as well as a 0-100km/h time of 5.3 seconds.
Safety
Jaguar focused on safety in the updated F-Pace by incorporating a range of driver assistance technology as standard.
These features include a clear exit monitor, a surround-view camera, and active cruise control with steering assist.
In addition, the Jaguar F-Pace range receives a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.
