New Jaguar F-Pace 2023 facelift: enhanced tech and better PHEV range

The Jaguar F-Pace has been updated for 2023 with a significant 20% range increase for the P400e plug-in hybrid version. 

The new Jaguar F-Pace looks similar to the existing model, which was only facelifted back in 2021 – when it also received a fresh new interior, which remains among the finest and highest-quality in this sector. But with the tech changes to the new Jaguar F-Pace P400e, its appeal is enhanced further, as plug-in hybrid SUVs become increasingly popular in the UK corporate car sector.

New 2023 Jaguar F-Pace price and release date

New Jaguar F-Pace prices start from £48,660. This is for the Jaguar F-Pace D200 R-Dynamic S diesel variant. The Jaguar F-Pace P250 R-Dynamic S petrol version costs from £52,415, while the plug-in hybrid Jaguar F-Pace P400e R-Dynamic S costs from £60,985. If you want potent V8 performance, the specialist Jaguar F-Pace SVR costs from £84,940.

The new Jaguar F-Pace 2024 model year is available to order now. First deliveries for those buying or leasing the new Jaguar F-Pace are expected in spring 2023.

New 2023 Jaguar F-Pace: exterior and interior

The new 2023 Jaguar F-Pace has a similar look to the outgoing car, which remains fresh and modern-looking. The refresh introduced a distinctive new array of grille designs, plus distinctive dual ‘J’ LED icons in the headlights. New alloy wheel designs were introduced and visual details were refined – and all models wear the R-Dynamic styling kit.

For 2023, the new Jaguar F-Pace boasts a series of enhancements. Entry-grade R-Dynamic S models now come with 19-inch wheels as standard, with other models featuring 20-inch, 21-inch and even 22-inch alloys. There’s a choice of diamond-turned or black finish, and run-flat tyres are optional.

The sporty new Jaguar F-Pace 400 Sport actually has an increased wheel size of 22-inches as standard. They are gloss silver forged wheels with diamond-turned finish and contrast inserts. Jaguar tells us the centre caps on all new 2023 F-Pace are now black and silver, instead of the previous red and silver.

All new Jaguar F-Pace, apart from entry-level R-Dynamic S grade, boast the Black Pack styling kit. This includes gloss black door mirror caps, grille and grill surround, window surround, front wing vents, rear valance and rear badges. A neat detail touch is the regular red and green R-Dynamic badge switching to more modern black and grey.

This has a two-dial configuration with either media or sat nav in the centre panel. What’s more, all new Jaguar F-Pace boast wireless device charging – plus the brilliant Jaguar Pivi Pro infotainment system, which includes wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa and the innovative what3words navigation system.

The headline model of the new Jaguar F-Pace line-up is the plug-in hybrid P400e version, which pairs a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine with a powerful electric motor. Thanks to a battery that’s grown from eight modules to nine, it has a raised storage capacity, which rises to 19.2kWh. Jaguar says this improves the pure electric driving range from 33 miles to over 40 miles – a 20% improvement.

It also means new Jaguar F-Pace P400e CO2 emissions drop down to 37g/km. This, combined with the improved range, has a significant impact on the company car Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax rate, which drops from 12% to 8%. It means the new plug-in hybrid Jaguar F-Pace P400e becomes a considerably more attractive proposition to business car drivers. It’s a potent one too, with 404PS serving up 0-60mph acceleration in 5.0 seconds.

The new Jaguar F-Pace P400e boasts 35kW DC fast charging capability, so it can charge to 80% capacity in just 30 minutes. This means those buying or leasing the new plug-in hybrid Jaguar F-Pace will be able to use public chargers on the move and quickly top up the battery to improve their zero-emissions range. Even using a 7kW wall box, the new Jaguar F-Pace P400e will charge from 0% to 100% in just two hours 30 minutes.

All new Jaguar F-Pace have an eight-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive transmission for plentiful winter weather traction. Other engines include 2.0-litre four-cylinder D200 diesel and P250 petrol, 3.0-litre six-cylinder P400 petrol and D300 diesel, and the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 P550. The D200, P300 and P400 are all MHEV mild-hybrid motors, helping save a little fuel in everyday driving.

Used Jaguar F-Pace prices now start from under £20,000. This will secure you a 2017 2.0-litre diesel Prestige model with around 60,000 miles on the clock. More stylish R-Sport AWD models are also available for around £21,000. Used 2021 Jaguar F-Pace P400e plug-in hybrid models start from around £56,000.
