The flagship EV limo is said to be low-slung, measure around 5,575 mm in length and will feature the longest bonnet ever on a Jaguar.
Jaguar has already announced that the brand will be reinventing itself to offer only electric models from 2025. The carmaker had previously announced an electric SUV and a 4-seat Grand Tourer. Now, a media report suggests that the third model in the lineup will be a flagship sedan.
The new flagship all-electric sedan from Jaguar is said to be an indirect replacement for the now-defunct XJ. However, reports state that the all-electric limo will be much larger and more luxurious than the XJ. The new electric sedan will be underpinned by the brand’s new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), which it will share with the other two EV offerings.
All three models will be priced between GBP 1,00,000 – GBP 1,25,000. They will also reportedly come with impressive range and performance figures. All three cars are expected to make no less than 450 BHP, be capable of sprinting from 0 -100 km/h in between 3.0-3.8 seconds, have a top speed of 250 km/h and offer anywhere between 620 – 765 km of driving range. In addition to this, all three EVs will come with four-wheel-drive, four-wheel steering and ultra-fast-charging capabilities, allowing 10-80% charge in just 13 minutes.
Talking specifically about the electric limo, the sedan is expected to have a major design departure from any of Jaguar’s current products. The flagship EV limo is said to be low-slung, measure around 5,575 mm in length and feature ultra-slim LED lights with a distinctive pattern, an all-new grille structure, full-width tail lights at the rear, digital mirrors and large 22-inch alloy wheels. Reports also state that the limo will feature the longest bonnet ever on a Jaguar.
The minimalist styling is expected to be carried forward to the inside as well. The interiors of the electric limo will feature a new wraparound display on the dashboard, which controls most of the features, with the only buttons being those on the steering wheel. There will also be a smaller screen on the centre console for climate controls. Other interior features include reclining sear seats, individual screens at the back and sun blinds; among many others.
The new models will be built in JLR’s Solihull plant in the UK, which currently produces the F-Pace and Range Rover models. Reports also state that JLR’s goal for the revived Jaguar brand will be to sell 4,000 cars globally every month.
