Upcoming Mahindra Cars in India
In recent years, Mahindra has evolved a lot in making new-generation UVs. The homegrown UV specialist started modernizing its lineup with the Marazzo MPV. Mahindra continued to bring new offerings in the past.
The list includes XUV300, second-generation Thar, XUV300, Bolero Neo and the all-new XUV700. And it is not the end. There is a slew of products that Mahindra will bring to the Indian market in the next few years.

After a fair amount of success with the XUV300, Mahindra is working on a bigger version of the compact SUV. Codenamed as S204, this new SUV from Mahindra has a longer wheelbase and extra third-row seats over the XUV300.
It will also have subtle tweaks at the front and rear to make it look different compared to the XUV300. The XUV300’s design elements like wheel arches, claw design front grill will come with the SUV. The S204 will share the 1.5-litre diesel engine with the XUV300. But for the petrol variants, it will use a more powerful 1.5-litre mStallion T-GDI petrol engine.
Mahindra eXUV300
Mahindra eXUV300 expected price – Rs 14-16 lakh
The brand has planned to bring a slew of all-new and updated models
The Tata Nexon EV is having a good run as a sole player in the sub-compact EV space in India. But, it is soon going to receive its first direct rival in the form of Mahindra eXUV300. Like Nexon and its EV version, the eXUV300 will look similar to its ICE version.
However, there will be subtle blue highlights and EV-specific tweaks that will make the eXUV300 stand out. The Mahindra eXUV300 debuted at the Auto Expo 2020 with a 350V powertrain, though at the time of the launch, it will have a more advanced setup.
Mahindra Scorpio
Mahindra Scorpio expected price – Rs 10-16 lakh
All-new Mahindra Scorpio will arrive later this year
This is surely going to be the next huge thing from Mahindra after the XUV700. The all-new Scorpio is in the works for quite a long time now, and the first half of 2022 is going to witness its grand arrival. In terms of visual appeal, the new Mahindra Scorpio is a complete departure from the current model and is expected to have a much more modern appeal than the current version.
The interior of the new Scorpio is also said to have received subtle transformation. The new Scorpio will share its 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engines with the Thar, possibly in a different state of tune.
Mahindra New XUV500
Mahindra New XUV500 expected price – Rs 12.5-20 lakh
Even with the arrival of the XUV700, Mahindra will bring back the XUV500
Despite having a strong SUV portfolio, Mahindra is having a glaring absence from the premium compact SUV space, which currently has seen a lot of action with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and Nissan Kicks competing with each other.
Mahindra is secretly working on an all-new SUV, which is believed to be positioned between the XUV300 and XUV700. Rumours say that this new SUV will mark the comeback of the XUV500 nameplate. It might share a few design cues with the XUV family lineup and will be available with a 1.5 mStallion T-GDI petrol and 1.5 Turbo diesel engine.
Mahindra eKUV100
Mahindra eKUV100 expected price – Rs 6 lakh
While an electrified version version of the KUV100 is on the cards
Mahindra intends to revolutionize the entry-level EV space with the new eKUV100. Now, the current ICE version of KUV100 has been a dud in terms of market acceptance. However, Mahindra wishes to change its fortunes by bringing in its EV version.
The model had already made its first global appearance at the Auto Expo 2020. The quirky micro-SUV styling has been retained for the eKUV100, though it gets blue highlights everywhere. It was showcased with a 54 PS motor and a 15.9 kWh battery, which are expected to be revised for the launch model.
Mahindra XUV Aero
Mahindra XUV Aero expected price– Rs 22-25 lakh
The XUV Aero will also enter production
The Mahindra XUV Aero is to XUV700, what the BMW X6 is to X5. The XUV Aero is going to be a unique SUV-coupe model, which is going to share much of its visual appeal and mechanical underpinnings with the XUV700.
Once it gets launched, it will become the most affordable SUV-coupe model in India, which is currently limited to niche offerings like BMW X6, Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe and Porsche Cayenne Coupe. The model is currently under development, and not much is known about its specific details.
Mahindra e2O NXT
Mahindra e2O NXT expected price
The E2O hatchback is set to comeback
To strengthen its presence in the sub-compact EV segment, Mahindra is said to be working on an additional small electric vehicle, which is said to be a comeback of the now-defunct e2O.
The erstwhile Mahindra e2O was essentially a Reva electric car with specific inputs from Mahindra. However, the new e2O NXT is expected to be a completely new product grounds-up, with an all-new design and decent mechanical specifications making it good for urban mobility.
Mahindra XUV700 Hybrid
Mahindra XUV700 Hybrid expected price – Rs 16-20 lakh
The XUV700 will become more fuel efficient with a hybrid system
While the new Mahindra XUV700 has created several benchmarks with its 2.0-litre mStallion T-GDI petrol engine, the powertrain focuses more on outright performance rather than being a fuel-efficient mill.
To make it even more efficient and advanced, Mahindra is already working on a petrol-hybrid version of the XUV700. This is not going to be a half-hearted micro-hybrid or mild hybrid, but a proper full-functional hybrid powertrain with a combination of a petrol engine and a dedicated motor-battery setup.
Mahindra Thar 5-door
Mahindra Thar 5-door expected price – Rs 12-17 lakh

Another remarkable product that has already been confirmed by Mahindra is the five-door version of the Thar. The Mahindra Thar is currently available as a three-door lifestyle SUV, which makes the rear seats quite impractical for daily usage and long drives.
The new Mahindra Thar will retain the butch and unique styling of the three-door version. However, it will come with a longer wheelbase to accommodate the extra rear doors and offer more usable legroom and knee room for the rear seat occupants. It will share its feature list and choice of engine and gearbox options with the current 3-door Thar.
