Earlier this month, we learned that Hero filed trademarks for the Karizma XMR and Karizma XMR 210 in India. Now, the Karizma XMR prototype has also been spied testing for the first time, hinting at a launch that is probably just around the corner.
New Hero Karizma XMR: Design
As seen in the spy pictures, the recently spotted Karizma XMR prototype was heavily camouflaged and appeared to be a production-ready model. Not only that, but the latest batch of spy shots also reveals a few important details about its design. Going by the pictures, the motorcycle is likely to feature sporty bodywork with an overall design language reminiscent of a supersport-style motorcycle. However, the sitting posture seems similar to a sport tourer.
Furthermore, the sporty bodywork of the Karizma XMR comprises large and angular fairing, windscreen-mounted mirrors, and a clip-on handlebar. Additionally, Hero may bestow it with all-LED lights and a step-up split seat.
New Hero Karizma XMR: Specifications
If the spy shots are to go by, the bike could come equipped with telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. The heavily camouflaged prototype also shows a reasonably big front disc brake. However, it is hard to say whether the brand will offer a rear disc brake setup. Nonetheless, we expect the upcoming Karizma XMR to feature a dual-channel ABS, assist and slipper clutch, traction control, and a Bluetooth-enabled fully digital instrument console.
New Hero Karizma XMR: Engine
It is believed that the Karizma XMR could get a new 210cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This motor is likely to be more powerful than the Hero’s current 200cc units used in the Xtreme 200S and Xpulse 200 4V. Moreover, this engine is expected to be paired with a six-speed gearbox.
New Hero Karizma XMR: Prices and Rivals
Given the Hero Karizma is expected to feature a 210cc engine, it could cost Rs 2-2.50 lakh. Upon launch, it will rival a wide range of motorcycles, such as the Yamaha R15 V4, KTM RC 200, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, and Bajaj RS200.
