Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe facelifts launched: All you need to know

Porsche has introduced the facelifted versions of the Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe in India, with prices starting at Rs 1.36 crore (ex-showroom) and Rs 1.42 crore (ex-showroom) respectively. These third-generation facelift models showcase a refreshed appearance, revamped interiors, more powerful engines, and a range of new features. While Porsche offers various trims of the SUV in international markets, in India, it has launched only the base-spec versions of the Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe. The Cayenne holds a crucial position among Porsche’s product lineup in India and has played a vital role in the brand’s overall sales growth. In the previous calendar year, the Cayenne emerged as the best-selling model, with 399 units sold. Further, when combined with the sales of the Macan, the two models achieved a strong sales growth of 69 per cent. Thanks to the strong demand for its vehicles, Porsche achieved its highest-ever sales in the country in 2022.

Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe facelifts: Design

The facelifted Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe showcase several design enhancements, including new angular Matrix LED headlights with integrated signature daytime running lights, revised taillamps with a full-length light bar, redesigned front and rear bumpers, a new bonnet, dual exhaust tips, and new alloy wheels. The India-spec Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe facelifts come equipped with 20-inch alloy wheels as standard, while optional sets of 21-inch and 22-inch wheels are available. Also, there are three new colours introduced: Algarve Blue Metallic, Montego Blue Metallic, and Arctic Grey. Customers also have the option to customise their SUVs with the lightweight sports package, reducing weight by up to 33kg.

Inside the cabin, the updated models feature a range of changes. Notable updates include a 911-inspired steering wheel, three new screens – a 12.6-inch curved driver display, a 12.3-inch central information hub, and an optional 10.9-inch passenger touchscreen, which is available for the first time in these SUVs. There is also a new black glass panel in the centre console with touch capacitive switches and haptic feedback. The India-spec models come with partial-leather upholstery in black, a 10-speaker, 150-watt sound system, a driver memory package, and eight-way electrically adjustable front seats with heating function.

Other new features include a toggle-type gear selector, an air quality system, a drive mode selector, a toggle button to control the instrument panel, fast-charging USB Type-C ports, and a fixed panoramic sunroof. Porsche also offers a Sports Chrono Package for these models, which includes an analogue and digital stopwatch and an added Sports Plus mode, among other features.

New Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe: Powertrain

Powering the entry-level Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe facelifts in India is a tuned-up 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged engine that produces 353PS and 500Nm of torque. This represents an increase of 13PS and 50Nm compared to the previous version. The motor comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. We expect Porsche to introduce other trims of the Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe facelifts, such as the S, E-Hybrid, and the top-of-the-line Turbo GT, later this year.
