Jeep has recently launched the Jeep Compass Trailhawk in India and here are the top 5 things you must know about the 5-seater SUV.
Exterior
The newly launched Jeep Compass Trailhawk clearly looks more off-road friendly and the latest update makes the Trailhawk’s design in line with the facelifted Jeep Compass that was launched last year.
The changes include new sleeker-looking LED projector headlamps with integrated DRLs, a new 7-slat grille and a new front bumper with black accents and a chunky silver-coloured bash plate.
Other than these changes, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk also gets two tow hooks at the front, anti-glare graphics on the bonnet, a black roof, redesigned rear bumper, new alloy wheels and black cladding all around.
To further differentiate, Jeep has also added ‘Trail Rated’ badges on the fenders and the Trailhawk logo at the rear.
Interior
Moving inside the newly launched Jeep Compass Trailhawk, the interior immediately feels very familiar as the interior very much remains identical to the facelifted version of the Jeep Compass.
Apart from that, the interior of the Jeep Compass Trailhawk comes with an all-black themed interior. Also, the leather upholstery on the new Jeep Compass Trailhawk gets contrasting red stitches on the seats, dashboard and door trims.
Features
The interior of the Jeep Compass Trailhawk is based on the top-spec ‘S’ trim of the Jeep Compass. This means the Jeep Compass Trailhawk comes with all the bells and whistles such as a large 10.25 inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, an equally large fully digital instrument cluster, Uconnect 5 connected car features, a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, etc.
Other than these features, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk also comes packed with features such as dual-zone climate control, parking sensors, ventilated front seats, wireless charging pad and many more.
Powertrain
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk continues to use the tried-and-tested powertrain from the standard Jeep Compass. This means, under the bonnet, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk uses the 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine.
This engine produces 170bhp of peak power and 350Nm of peak torque, and comes mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox as standard. Moreover, the power is channelled to all-four wheels via Jeep’s SelecTerrain 4WD system. The system also comes with an additional ‘Rock’ mode for more extreme off-roading.
Apart from that, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk has been raised to give 205mm of ground clearance and the reprofiled bumpers give the Trailhawk a better approach, departure and break-over angles than the standard version of the Jeep Compass. Also, the wheels are now 225/65 R17 for better off-road ability.
Price
The launch price of the Jeep Compass Trailhawk variant is Rs 30.72 lakh (ex-showroom, India). In comparison, the top-spec S trim of the Jeep Compass with a 4WD system is priced at Rs 29.34 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Thoughts About Jeep Compass Trailhawk
If you are planning to buy the top-spec Jeep Compass, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk makes a lot more sense as the SUV can tackle far rougher terrain than the standard variant and definitely looks apart with its distinctive styling. Moreover, considering the price difference, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk is a good VFM variant.
