This digitally rendered XUV700 6X6 on steroids makes the road of bones look like cakewalk
This 6X6 concept based on the highly popular Mahindra XUV700 gives us an idea of how impressive the pick-ups can look, especially with an extra set of tyres.
Key Highlights
- Digitally rendered XUV700 pick-up truck
- Gets three axles
- Illegal to do such modifications
Overview
Remember the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen 6X6? The limited-edition monstrous model was able to capture the attention of almost every enthusiast on this planet. While pick-ups are not very popular in India, the scenario is slowly changing and even Toyota is entering the market with the Hilux. Well, how about a monstrous version of the popular XUV700?
While Mahindra has no plans to bring out anything closely resembling these rendered images we still think that everyone should see what the XUV700 could look like. Rendered images by Amogh shows us what it would look like if XUV700 6X6 becomes a reality.
Mahindra XUV700 6X6 design
The Mahindra XUV700 is a good looking car so there are no changes in the front. It remains exactly the same as it comes from the factory. The vehicle gets massive off-road tyres on the off-road-spec rims with bead lock.
Yes please
The rendered images also show that the artist has stretched the body of the XUV700 to accommodate another axle and another set of tyres. We do hope that the new axle is a live axle making it a proper 6X6.

The overall design looks brute. The singular wheel arches in the rear and flared fenders add all the muscles to the car. There are additional parts like a light bar on the roof and other changes as well.
Can you make it in real life?
But such modification jobs are not legal
The XUV700 is based on a monocoque chassis and the short answer is no. The long answer is yes, you can come up with something like this but it will require a team of some of the best mechanics, designers, and forging experts.
Can you do such modifications in real life?
Integrating all the parts together and adding another differential to power the new axle is a big task. It is a long job on paper and a much longer job in real life. The job becomes easier with ladder-frame chassis-based cars like the current-generation Mahindra Bolero and Scorpio. With all the extra weight and additional axle, a more powerful engine will be needed.
There are a lot of changes in the vehicle done digitally
Even if you somehow manage to make a vehicle like this in real life, be assured that the cops will seize it. Modifications, especially the ones that change the structure of the vehicle are banned in India.
Here it is and it looks like a badass
