It’s unclear if the Gladiator’s hybrid system will be a refreshed version of that currently offered in the Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe or if the same figures we get now will continue to be on the spec sheet come the new model year. It would make sense for Jeep to update the system by then to remain competitive, but the existing setup isn’t too bad as things stand.
In the Wrangler, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-pot is mated to a pair of electric motors and a 400-volt, 17-kWh battery pack. In total, the system produces 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.
