The Jeep Gladiator is one of the most unique products you're likely to come across on our roads, being a drop-top double cab bakkie with a host of ' go anywhere' off-road goodies. What does its warranty cover, though?
The Jeep Gladiator is backed by a manufacturer car warranty that covers certain defects and repairs for a specified period of time or mileage, whichever comes first. The following are the details of the warranty coverage for the 2023 Jeep Gladiator:
- The FCA warranty includes a comprehensive service of free basic repair or replacement of the defective part, its labour time and the supply of the necessary consumables for 36 months, starting from the date your vehicle was delivered. These include original parts, roadside assistance and workmanship
- Warranty against body corrosion is limited to body panel perforation (edge corrosion excluded) for 5 years/unlimited mileage for Jeep vehicles from the date of sale.
Basic Limited Warranty: This warranty covers the vehicle for 5 years or 100 000km, whichever comes first. It covers all parts and systems except those listed in the “Exclusions” section of the warranty booklet.
Exclusions
When consulting the Jeep warranty section on its website, we found the following as exceptions to the aforementioned warranty coverage.
“The vehicle or component/part has been subjected to a hazardous or corrosive environment (viz. industrial fallout, airborne corrosive particles, driving on beaches, salt-laden or unsurfaced roads, excessive salt-laden environment, or stored and/or parked in bright sunlight, under trees or vegetation that may give rise to staining, paint damage arising from bird droppings or hailstorms, earthquakes, flood damage, or such other damage arising from any act of nature). Vehicles parked in coastal areas require frequent hosing down to remove environmental sea salt spray.”
