Renault Kiger Safety Features
All the variants of the Renault Kiger come equipped with front two airbags as standard. Additionally, the top-spec version gets four airbags, including front and side. Plys, the vehicle even gets seatbelts with pre-tensioner and load-limiter for the driver. Additionally, the sub-compact SUV comes with ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, impact sensing door unlock, speed sensing door lock, 60:40 split rear row seat, adjustable headrests and ISOFIX child seat anchorage.

Renault Kiger Safety Rating
The Kiger’s most basic spec model, which comes with two front airbags and ABS, was tested by the Global NCAP. Overall, the test showed the structure to be unstable and the driver having only marginal protection for the chest area. Also, the ISOFIX child seat anchorage aren’t visible to the customers as they come covered with the seat fabric. Also, the entry-level model gets lap belt for the middle row passenger and comes with Electronic Stability Program and side head impact protection as standard.
Adult Occupant Safety Test
The protection offered to the driver’s and passenger’s head and neck was good. The driver’s chest showed marginal protection and the passenger’s chest showed adequate protection. The driver’s and left passenger’s knees showed marginal protection as they could impact with dangerous structures behind the dashboard supported by the Tranfascia tube. The passenger’s right knee showed good protection. The driver’s tibias and passenger’s right tibia showed adequate protection while the passenger’s left tibia showed good protection. The bodyshell was rated as unstable and it was not capable of withstanding further loadings. The footwell area was rated as stable. The car offers standard SBR for driver and passenger. All of the above explains the four stars for adult occupant protection.
Child Occupant Safety Test
The child seat for the 3 year old was installed FWF using the adult belt and could not prevent excessive forward movement of the head while offering poor protection to the chest. The 1.5 year old child seat was installed RWF with the adult belt while offering good protection to head and weak protection to the chest. CRS marking was permanent. The recommended CRSs did not show incompatibility. The vehicle offers lapbelt in the rear centre position. The car has ISOFIX anchorages but they were hidden to consumers. All of the above explains the two stars for child occupant protection.

Renault Kiger Specs and Features
Renault Kiger is on sale in two engine options – 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated and 1.0-litre turbocharged. Both the petrol engines are available with two transmission options. The former comes with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed. The maximum fuel efficiency is rated at 20.5 kmpl. The latter offers a 5-speed manual and a CVT. The highlights of the features list include a PM2.5 Advanced Atmospheric Filter, Wireless Smartphone Charging, Cruise Control, Dual Tone Colour Options, and 40.64 cm Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels with Red Wheel Caps. The Renault Kiger found itself at second place in the J.D. Power 2021 India Initial Quality Study (IQS) in the Compact SUV Segment.
