Hybrid power will come to Nissan’s family favourite from early next year in Australia
Nissan Australia has confirmed local pricing and specification for its hybrid-powered X-Trail e-Power ahead of local deliveries starting next year.
It has been confirmed that the X-Trail e-Power will land in Australia in the range-topping Ti and Ti-L forms only, with prices starting from $54,190 and $57,190 respectively.
Both e-Power models represent a $4200 jump from their exclusively petrol-powered counterpart.
The new Nissan X-Trail will have e-Power and e-4orce all-wheel drive
As a series hybrid system, e-Power is different from what we’ve seen in vehicles such as the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and instead uses the petrol engine as a generator to either fill a 1.8kWh battery or drive the wheels through an inverter.
This results in a claimed combined fuel economy of 6.1L/100km in the X-Trail e-Power.
Alongside the e-Power hybrid technology, these X-Trail models also benefit from Nissan’s new e-4orce all-wheel-drive system. This uses a motor on each axle to create purely electric all-wheel drive that, according to Nissan, is claimed to be far more advanced than anything that’s come before it.
The Nissan X-Trail has been redesigned inside and out
Because the two e-Power models are already at the top of the range, features such as a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch cluster, a 10.8-inch head-up display and a panoramic sunroof all come standard.
Opting for the range-topping Ti-L adds quilted Nappa leather seats and a ten-speaker Bose premium sound system, which enhances the luxury credentials even further.
Both variants also benefit from Nissan’s Pilot Pro safety suite, which includes a broad range of features that include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and more.

“With the X-Trail Ti and Ti-L e-POWER with e-4ORCE models, luxury and efficiency arrive hand in hand, combining the best design, safety, comfort and convenience features with Nissan’s advanced electrification technology to deliver an EV-like drive experience and incredible efficiency,” says Nissan Australia Managing Director, Adam Paterson.
