- Nissan Magnite gets a new special Red Edition Upgrade
Nissan adds some spice to its Magnite range in the form of the 'Red Edition Upgrade' and it's coming to South African shores soon.
The Nissan Magnite is a car that flies under the radar but a good budget compact SUV that doesn’t break the bank. Designed in Japan and introduced many first in class and some of the best-in-segment features, there’s a clear aim to be premium and shake up the compact SUV market.
Seating for 5, a 336-litre boot space capacity and big on safety. Powered by a 1.0 litre turbocharged 3 cylinder petrol engine mated to a CVT automatic gearbox or 5 speed manual, you’ll find 74 kW of power and 152 Nm of torque sent through to the front wheels.
Then comes the Red Edition upgrade. This model is based on the Accenta Plus and comes with the additions of red accents and in the interior and exterior along with some additional features. Inside, The dashboard now has a large red theme and LED scuff plates. On the outside, there’s subtle but noticeable red accents in the form of decals, painted brake calipers, badges exclusive to the model and to wrap it all up, a chrome trim piece on the bootlid.
You have the looks to match and you still get the famous claimed fuel consumption of 5.27 l / 100km on the manual trim and 6.0 l / 100km in the automatic. The Magnite Red Edition according to Stefan Haasbroek, Marketing Director at Nissan Africa, borrows from Nissan’s Racing Pedigree and aims to shake up the crossover market.
