Mazda has updated its CX-8 large SUV range in Australia for 2023, dropping the SP grade and increasing prices by up to $1550
Mazda Australia has announced its 2023 CX-8 lineup, with the large SUV now starting from $42,060 before on-road costs for the entry-level Sport AWD petrol.
Prices are up by at least $1450, however some variants are commanding up to $1550 more than 2022 values.
When compared to the 2022 range, Mazda has dropped its SP grade from the lineup, however it has retained its flagship $71,410 Asaki LE variant.
The new Mazda CX-8 has had its styling tweaked for 2023
Mazda says the updated CX-8 will go on sale locally in March 2023.
The facelifted CX-8 will be released in Australia shortly ahead of the arrival of a pair of new premium-grade Mazda SUVs in the five-seat CX-60 and seven-seat CX-90.
Later, the as yet unrevealed CX-80 model may come to Australia as a luxury alternative to today’s CX-8 three-row crossover.
The Mazda CX-8 will be available with six or seven seat layouts
What’s new for the CX-8 in 2023?
The Mazda CX-8 might look a little different to how it did in 2022 and that’s largely due to new inspiration from Mazda’s kodo design language.
Restyled front and rear bumpers, a block mesh pattern grille and new headlight and tail light design all make their way onto the 2023 Mazda CX-8.
New wheel designs are also set to debut, along with a new Rhodium White exterior colour.
Captain’s chairs will remain an option for 2023
On the inside, Mazda has included its 10.25-inch infotainment screen on every model variant, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto.
Also standard on the CX-8 will be a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, USB-C ports for front occupants and a remote window control system that can be activated via the key fob.
Mazda says that as a result of extensive research and development, the CX-8 gains redesigned coil springs and front dampers for “improved onboard comfort for the whole family”.
Mazda has also redesigned the headlights and tail lights of the CX-8
The CX-8 will continue to be offered in either a six or seven seat layout, with the six-seat layout featuring second-row captain’s chairs.
