Mahindra XUV700 is a hit in the Indian market and is still in huge demand. Because of this, the waiting periods are quite long. Many people were so impressed by the XUV700 that they did not even test drive and straight-up booked the SUV. Here, is an owner who explains the negatives of his XUV700.
The video is uploaded on YouTube by Arun Panwar. The XUV700 in the video is powered by a diesel engine that is mated to an automatic gearbox. It is the top-end AX7 variant with Luxury Pack and without all-wheel drive. The owner has covered around 10,000 km on the XUV700.
The host says that there are no blower controls in the middle row and there is no 12v accessory socket also. Then he says that the key fob is similar to the Thar which does not seem fair to the owners that spent so much money.
The XUV700 comes with frequency-selective dampers which do give great ride quality but they do make a lot of noise as per the owner. The owner has done some long rides in the XUV700. He took the SUV to hilly areas and he has also done some mild off-roading in it.
The owner also misses ventilated seats. He thinks that Mahindra should have offered ventilated seats, especially at this price point. Being the top-end variant, the XUV700 comes with motorized handles. The owner says that it has happened once that the key fob was not responding and the door handles were not opening. First, they tried to figure out how to open the door handles and then when they inserted the key, the horn started honking. Eventually, the car fixed itself and stopped honking.
The host says that some owners have faced issues with the electric seat adjustment but the owner says that it has not happened with him yet. Then the owner says that most of the time, the SUV stays in Zap mode and when you try to change the drive mode, the infotainment throws an error. The owner also says that the Sony speakers lack bass but the clarity is very good.
He also says that the second-row seats should have been slidable and the space in third-row seats is not sufficient. The owner has also turned off the Advanced Driver Aids System because they keep interrupting him. But he does love the Adaptive Cruise Control functionality.
The owner also shares some positives of the SUV. He says that he loves the performance of the vehicle. It does not matter if you buy a petrol or a diesel engine. The host also drives the SUV in Zoom mode and says that the XUV700 feels very powerful. On highways, the XUV700 has returned around 18 kmpl and in the city, it returns 7.6 kmpl as per the multi-information display.
