Tyre burst accidents are more common than you think and yet tyres are one of the most ignored parts in a car. Here is a Mahindra XUV500 that fell from a bridge after a massive tyre burst. The pictures show the severity of the fall and the crash.
The incident is from Gujarat and is reported by Prateek Singh. The pictures shared on the video shows how a Mahindra XUV500 on the ground from a bridge. According to the report, the Mahindra XUV500 was travelling on the highway when the front left tyre of the vehicle gave up and burst at high speed.
The driver of the Mahindra XUV500 lost control of the car after the tyre burst. The car hit the railing on the bridge and broke it completely. The exact drop from the bridge to the ground remains unknown. But it looks like a 30 feet fall.
Looking at the Mahindra XUV500, it is in extremely bad condition. The rear-end took quite a lot of damage and it seems like the vehicle fell on its rear. The front must have hit the railing that failed to save it from falling down.
The car is also missing a front wheel. Inside, the airbags have worked perfectly but airbags are not much effective during multiple collisions. Two people were travelling at the time of the accident and both of them are safe.
Tyre bursts are dangerous
Tyre bursts can instantly cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle is at high speed. It is always a good idea to inspect the tyres regularly for any cuts or wear and tear. Tyres should have a minimum of 1.5 mm of tread that provides grip to the vehicle.
Never over speed, speed limits are imposed after keeping the condition of the road in mind. SUVs and high speed do not go hand in hand. Due to high ground clearance, SUVs tend to have more body roll and are difficult to control during high-speed turns.
Always keep optimum tyre pressure recommended by the manufacturer. Under-inflated tyres can heat up quickly while over-inflated tyres can cause the car to not provide adequate grip and skid. Overloading also causes tyre bursts. Overloading put undue pressure on the tyres and can cause them to blow out. Driving over a long distance in hot weather conditions without taking breaks can also cause a tyre burst.
But can you control the car after a tyre burst? Well, you cannot do much after a high-speed tyre burst. You can, however, try to bring the car back in control by driving it in a straight line and slowing down by applying the brakes without force.
