Newly leaked documents related to the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N revealed specifications of all 40 variants of the SUV ahead of its launch in the country.
These leaked documents related to the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N SUV are the approval certificates and these certificates not only reveal the specifications of all variants of the SUV but also reveal the names of the variants.
Moreover, it is also worth mentioning that the variant names are different to the outgoing version of Mahindra Scorpio and the recently launched Mahindra XUV700 SUV. The new variants of the Scorpio N according to the leaked documents are Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L.
Other than this, the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N SUV is also available with 6-seater and 7-seater options. Moreover, customers can also choose between automatic and manual transmission options.
It is also worth mentioning that according to the leaked documents, only the diesel powertrain comes with a 4WD option.
The leaked approval certificates of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N also confirms the engine options and the base diesel engine in the SUV is a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine with 130bhp of peak power and likely to put 300Nm of peak torque. Moreover, this engine comes exclusively mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The next diesel engine is a much more powerful 2.2-litre turbocharged engine that produces 172bhp of peak power and 370Nm of peak torque. However, this engine is capable of producing 400Nm of torque in the variant equipped with the 6-speed automatic transmission.
Also, this is the only power unit that can be had with 4WD. Also, the 4WD option can be specified with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
The last engine option is the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 200bhp of peak and 380Nm of torque. This engine can also be specified with either a 6-speed torque converter gearbox or a 6-speed manual transmission. However, there is no 4WD option on the petrol powertrain according to the latest leaked documents.
Earlier, a few officially revealed interior pictures of the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N confirm that the 4WD version of the upcoming SUV gets both 4-high and 4-low gear ratios along with off-road modes – Rough, Mud, Snow and Water.
In terms of dimension, the upcoming new Mahindra Scorpio N is a big SUV that is 4,662mm long, 1,917mm wide, 1,857mm tall, and sports a wheelbase of 2,750mm. However, the heigh comes down to 1,849mm when equipped with the smaller 17-inch wheel instead of the 18-inch wheels.
The gross vehicle weight of the Mahindra Scorpio N is 2,510kg for the petrol variant, 2,570kg for the 2WD diesel variant and 2,670kg for the 4WD diesel variant. In comparison, the Mahindra XUV700’s gross vehicle weight ranges between 2,154kg to 2,471kg.
In terms of features and luxury, the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N sports premium-looking Brow and Black leather seats, a large 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, dual-zone climate controls, Sony speaker setup, wireless charging pad, ventilated seats, connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and more.
The new Scorpio N is scheduled to be revealed on 27th June 2022 and we expect Mahindra to price the Scorpio N aggressively with a starting price of Rs 12 lakh, ex-showroom.
