Mahindra will be launching the new generation of Scorpio on June 27th. They will be calling it Scorpio N and when it is launched, the current Scorpio will be renamed Scorpio Classic. The homegrown manufacturer has already revealed the exteriors of the SUV and now the interiors have been revealed.
In the video, we can see that the Scorpio N will be offered with captain seats for the second row. We also get a glimpse of the bench seat that will be offered in some variants. The interior is finished in a tan brown and black theme which gives a very premium look to the cabin. The seats have got perforations and they are probably made out of leather and also have white stitching.
There are vertical AC vents, it seems like there are soft-touch materials for the dashboard, a large touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control and a sound system by Sony. We also know that there will be an electric sunroof.
The infotainment system would support Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and the SUV also comes with user-profiles and the infotainment system runs on AdrenoX. There are grab handles on A-pillars to make it easier for the occupants to get inside. There is a rotary dial to change the terrain modes and we can see a button for four-wheel drive.
The steering wheel is taken from the XUV700 and is a multi-function unit. There is also Mahindra’s new twins-peak logo on the steering wheel. The instrument cluster is taken from the MX variant of the XUV700. So, it has got two analogue dials for the speedometer and tachometer while at the centre there is a multi-information display.
Along with the interior, the exterior is also all-new but with a hint of styling from the previous Scorpio. So, the exterior is boxy and still has straight lines and the tailgate still opens sideways via a door handle.
Up-front the bumper is all-new with Mahindra’s six-slat grille and twins-peak logo. There are also new LED foglamps that have a C-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps. The headlamps are all-new. They are twin-pod LED projector units with sweeping turn indicators.
On the sides, there are new larger alloy wheels that have a diamond-cut finish. At the rear, there are vertical LED tail lamps that do look inspired by Volvo’s SUVs and the previous generation Scorpios.
We do know that Mahindra will offer the Scorpio N with a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. Both the engines will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. As of now, we are not sure about the power and torque outputs of both engines. There will also be some kind of four-wheel drive system on offer that Mahindra is calling ‘4Xplor’.
