- How roomy is a Jeep Gladiator?
The modular design of the Jeep Gladiator creates quite an attractive design, but how roomy is the Jeep Gladiator though? Let's find out.
Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes
The Jeep Gladiator graced South African shores in 2022, taking the globally loved Jeep design and rocksteady off-road ability and moulding that into a tough-as-nails double cab bakkie, in the process creating something that can appeal to different lifestyles.
One of the most appealing characteristics of the Gladiator is the modular body panels on the vehicle. You can remove the doors, roof and even fold down the windshield if you so wish. Versatile is the name of the game here but Jeep didn’t compromise on the features of the vehicle. There’s some sophistication in the bakkie’s interior and some intuitive technology to boot. If you want to see how capable this bakkie really is, you can watch my colleague Sean Nurse’s review of the bakkie here.
How roomy is a Jeep Gladiator?
You could probably even ask how airy is the Jeep Gladiator even. Thanks to the Gladiator having the aforementioned modular design, there’s more room to fit things and allow even more air and sunlight into the cabin. The dash doesn’t protrude out in the cabin allowing more space inside. This vehicle first and foremost is a double cab bakkie, so there is enough room for 4 and at most 5 adults. If the people you are transporting are of a larger build, they may feel a bit cramped in the rear. Luggage should only be stored away in the load bin. The multi-configuration folding seats are an interesting feature here. Adding to that, under the rear seats are storage compartments. More room!
Roomy Dimensions?
The Jeep Gladiator on the outside is 5591 mm long, 1894 mm wide and 1905 mm high with a ground clearance of 250 mm. The load bin is 1500 mm long and has a payload of 693 kg. This bakkie is quite big, we’d say.
Inside, the Jeep Gladiator offers 1087 mm of headroom and 1046.5 mm of legroom in the front. Rear occupants get the same headroom as the front but legroom is shorter at 973 mm. However, with the ability to remove the roof and doors, you can extend those figures. With all that being said, the Jeep Gladiator is quite roomy.
