Shortly after the spyshots of the Geely FX11’s exterior surfaced, we now have a glimpse at the new C-segment SUV’s interior, courtesy of Weibo. The FX11 is widely believed to be the next-generation Geely Boyue.
Geely is expected to debut the FX11 in its home market in China later this year.
From the looks of it, the upcoming Geely FX11 will get a flat-bottomed steering wheel, replete with a black-finished Geely emblem and CMA wording – the latter is a reference to the platform which the FX11 is built on.
These photos also seemingly show a portrait-style infotainment display sitting centrestage, a design element that was first previewed on the Geely Vision Starburst Concept from 2021.
This is also the first time the Geely FX11 has been spotted under broad daylight and it gives us a decent look at the new C-segment SUV. From the looks of it, the Geely FX11 seems to have a longer hood than the current Boyue.
Wheel design appears to be similar to the unit in earlier spyshots, albeit with different finishing. The cut-outs on the front also seem to hint that the Geely FX11 will get 4 corner sensors up, as well as what seems like LED reflector headlights.
As for powertrain, the Geely FX11 will most likely drop the turbocharged 1.8-litre petrol engine in favour of a newer unit. It remains to be seen which exact engine will be featured here, but Geely has a range of regular petrol and petrol-electric hybrid powertrains that could power the FX11.
Will the Geely FX11 come to Malaysia?
Considering that the Proton X70 is based on the Geely Boyue, it’s a question of when, rather than if, the model arrives here.
The current generation Proton X70 only began production in Malaysia at the Tanjung Malim plant in late-2019, before launching in February 2020, just before MCO/CMCO wreaked havoc on the company’s projections.
The NL3 X70 will likely soldier on for another 5 years or so, likely skipping the all-new Boyue and instead getting the facelifted model, possibly by 2025.
