Nissan has announced that it has manufactured 50,000 units of Magnite SUV in India, since its launch last year. Moreover, the company has received more than 1 lakh bookings for the compact SUV.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr Biju Balendran, MD & CEO of RNAIPL said “We have been able to achieve the 50,000th Magnite milestone in less than 15 months despite headwinds from COVID and the Semiconductor crisis. Our employees and supplier partners have contributed immensely with innovative strategies to overcome this crisis. Thanks to all of them, we as one team will continue to move to challenge the ongoing crisis and support the waiting customers with quality cars at the earliest possible time.”
Speaking about the Nissan Magnite, the compact SUV was launched back in 2020, and it soon became a game-changer for the Japanese brand in India. At present, the Nissan Magnite SUV has generated over 1 lakh+ bookings despite the slow automotive market.
The Nissan Magnite is powered by two engine options. The base engine option is a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine with 72bhp of peak power and 96Nm of peak torque.
The second engine option is a more potent 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 98.6bhp of peak power and 160Nm of peak torque (152Nm of torque in CVT gearbox model). In addition to this, gearbox options include a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT gearbox.
Nissan Magnite is available in 4 different trim levels; XE, XL, XV, and XV Premium. Prices for the Nissan Magnite ranges from Rs 5.76 lakh (ex-showroom, India) to Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Apart from that, the Nissan Magnite is built on the CMF-A+ platform that underpins the Renault Triber and the platform is a derivative of the CMF-A platform that underpins the Renault Kwid.
In the crash test conducted by the Global-NCAP, the Nissan Magnite SUV scored 11.85 points out of 17 points. This score gets the Nissan Magnite SUV a 4-Star rating for the adult occupant protection.
Also, the Nissan Maginite scored 24.88 points out of 49 points for child occupant protection. In addition to this, Nissan Magnite has also scored a 4-Star rating in ASEAN-NCAP.
