While specifications are still under wraps, the new pics show the off-road mid-size SUV with a facelift and a new LiDAR unit. Its chassis has been updated, too, with a shorter front overhang for better off-road performance. The Tank 300’s PHEV variant is also receiving a significant boost in battery capacity, with a 60 kWh pack good for 200 km set to debut. The refreshed SUV is set to begin pre-sales in China on July 6, with global deliveries expected to commence after its China launch. Exterior & Styling The front of the new Tank 300. The Tank 300 has received a significant makeover at the front. Gone is the silver-T and black-U badge, with all-caps “T A N K” lettering standing in its place. The front bumper also continues the “macho” theme, featuring visible fasteners and towing recovery points. It’s unclear if they’re actually functional, though. More fasteners appear on the exterior of the lower A-pillar trim pieces, which may allow drivers to attach off-road accessories such as LED floodlights or camera mounts. As a result, the new 300 now resembles GWM’s Hooke Edition prototype, unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2025. The rear and sides of the new Tank 300. In addition to these exterior updates, another highlight is an extra bump above the windshield, a feature typically reserved for LiDAR units. It is possible that the new Tank 300 may feature GWM’s Coffee Pilot Ultra assisted driving system. Chassis & Powertrain Beyond its visual and technological upgrades, the new 300 has grown: MIIT filings specify dimensions of 4,886 mm in length, 1,984 mm in width, 1,927 mm in height, and a wheelbase now stretched to 3,010 mm. The revised chassis trims the front overhang, boosting approach angle and sharpening off-road capability. While the Hooke Edition prototype incorporated a solid front axle, the new 300 is still expected to feature front double wishbones and rear multi-link live axle suspension. Additionally, GWM is expected to offer a standard rear locking diff and an optional front locking diff. ICE trims are expected to offer current powertrains: a 490 Nm 2.4T diesel, a 265 kW (355 hp) 3.0T petrol V6, and a 2.0T petrol 4-cylinder, now increased to 175 kW (235 hp). While GWM has not yet released full specifications, the same 800V system in the Tank 400 pairs a 59 kWh NMC battery with a 2.0T engine, delivering an identical 200 km of WLTC EV range and 635 kW (852 hp) of total power.
