The new Ora 5 GT features a redesigned rear cargo area and an increased overall length. In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,758mm in length, 1,833mm or 1,844mm in width (depending on the configuration), and 1,630mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,720mm. Positioned as a compact SUV with a unibody structure, the vehicle is rated for five passengers. Visually, the front fascia remains largely consistent with the standard Ora 5. The rear is characterised by a through-type taillight design and GWM branding. According to the optional badging in the filings, the vehicle utilises “Hi2” power technology, effectively filling the gap in Ora’s plug-in hybrid product portfolio. Wheel options include 215/50R18 and 225/60R18 specifications. The rear of the Ora 5 GT. The MIIT documents highlight a wide array of optional upgrades focused on intelligent driving and aesthetics. Higher-trim versions are expected to feature an advanced intelligent driver-assistance system, with options for LiDAR, front and side radars, and side-view cameras. Exterior customisations include options for a non-panoramic roof, side window decorative trim, various wheel styles, and different exterior mirror designs. The Ora 5 GT is powered by the GW4B15M 1.5T turbocharged engine produced by Great Wall Motor. The engine delivers a rated power of 115kW (154hp), allowing for a top speed of 190km. Interestingly, although most of the new energy vehicles produced by Great Wall use batteries from its subsidiary Svolt, this hybrid model uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries from CATL. According to China EV DataTracker, over the past two months, Great Wall’s Ora brand has seen a strong sales performance, with each model selling over 10,000 units, representing year-on-year growth of 229.2% and 151.6%, respectively.
