The update includes several cosmetic changes for the EV, HEV, and ICE crossover, including new paint designs and an aero body kit. While pricing is unannounced, the Ora 5 lineup starts at 69,800 yuan (10,200 USD) in China. What’s new with the GT & Sport The Ora 5 Sport doesn’t see many changes on the outside, with the largest addition being a two-tone paint job with a white roof. GWM’s teaser pics also show red brake callipers, larger wheels, and a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, a feature currently exclusive to EV trims. The Ora 5 Sport. The GT trim goes further with an extensive body kit, including a front splitter, a rear spoiler, and side skirts. Red accents on the wheels, headlights, brakes and aero bits complete the sporty look. The GT in the teaser also appears to be an EV model, as evident by the charge port on its front fender. The Ora 5 GT. GWM is light on hardware changes, and it’s currently unknown whether the Sport and GT trims will be offered for the ICE and HEV Ora 5s. It’s also unclear whether the new trims will see horsepower boosts or handling tweaks, and they may remain purely cosmetic upgrades. This cosmetic approach is also seen on Ora’s Funky Cat, also known as the Good Cat, or simply the “Ora 3”. The Funky Cat GT features a similar body kit, with splitters and spoilers protruding from the body shell, but doesn’t offer any power or chassis upgrades over the top-trim standard model. More on the Ora 5 – Powertrains The Ora 5 is offered with EV, self-charging HEV, and pure-petrol ICE powertrains. EV 5s get a 150 kW (201 hp) front motor. This pairs with 45.3 & 58.3 kWh LFP packs from GWM’s SVOLT, good for 480 & 580 km of CLTC EV range, respectively. The current Ora 5. ICE 5s feature a 135 kW (181 hp) 1.5-litre engine with a variable-geometry turbocharger (VGT). It is paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The car does the 0-100 km/h sprint in 8.9 s. The top speed is 190 km/h. WLTC consumption is rated at 6.4 L/100km. HEV trims use a 115 kW (154 hp) 1.5-litre turbo engine paired with a 140 kW (188 hp) front motor. They’re paired with a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) that delivers a combined 166 kW (223 hp). The 0-100 time is 7.7 seconds, and the top speed is 185 km/h. GWM says the Ora 5 can navigate up to 3 km through a multi-story car park. The firm also claims that the Ora 5 will be the cheapest LiDAR-equipped vehicle in the Chinese market. This is the case even with the LiDAR unit being an optional extra. While LiDAR isn’t offered on non-EV Ora 5s in China, it could be offered overseas. This would align with the LiDAR-heavy export strategy employed by rivals like Chery. For reference, the Ora 5 measures 4471 mm in length, 1833 mm in width, and 1641 mm in height. It has a 2720 mm wheelbase. Curb weight is rated between 1440 and 1665 kg. McPherson struts are used on the front, and multi-link suspension is seen at the rear. Source: China EV DataTracker According to China EV DataTracker, the Ora 5’s EV variant delivered 2,789 units domestically in June 2026. Although the Ora 5 lineup has not surpassed 5,000 monthly units since its December 2025 launch, the introduction of new GT & Sport trims, as well as the recently launched HEV and ICE trims, may help boost its desirability.
