This newcomer undercuts the AWD variant of the BYD Ti7 while offering better specs. The GWM H10 crossover is the newest addition to the Haval brand. We will add a few words about its entangled naming. Previously, GWM officials held a public vote among Weibo social media users to choose a name for this flagship. The Haval GWM H10 variant won. However, it seems that the brand’s officials later decided that the Haval name cannot stand before GWM in the model’s name. The Haval GWM H10 As a result, the Haval part was simply dropped from the official name during the launch ceremony. According to GWM official channels, this car’s name is GWM H10. However, Haval badges still can be seen on the front end, rims, and steering wheel of the new SUV. Moreover, the H10 is sold through the Haval dealership network. So, the full name of this model is actually Haval GWM H10. Luckily, naming is the only confusing part of the GWM H10. It is a monocoque SUV that stands on the GWM One (Guiyuan) modular architecture. The biggest highlight of this chassis is its compatibility with five powertrain variants: ICE, HEV, PHEV, BEV, and FCEV. The GWM H10 is a plug-in hybrid. However, Haval can introduce this model with alternative powertrain options for specific regions or market segments. Five-seat GWM H10 Six-seat GWM H10 The Haval GWM H10 is a sturdy SUV with large blocky headlights, wide fenders, conventional door handles, and a flat roofline. The entry-level variant of this car comes standard with a five-seat interior. Its dimensions are 5138/2050/1970 mm with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. There is also a six-seat version with an overall length stretched to 5,299 mm. It is worth noting that the H10 boasts torsional stiffness of 40,861 Nm/degree. It is greater than the corresponding figure of the Porsche 911 992. The six-seat H10 offers approach and departure angles of 24 and 25 degrees, respectively. A shorter five-seat car boasts a 30-degree departure angle. The ground clearance is 220 mm. The car has a swing-out tailgate with a full-size spare wheel mounted on it. Its curb weight lies between 2,510 and 2,570 kg, depending on the interior layout. The gross weight reaches 3,120 kg. Five-seat GWM H10 Six-seat GWM H10 The GWM H10 adopts a 15.6-inch screen in the dashboard, complemented by a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 29-inch head-up display. There is a 17.3-inch screen in the ceiling. Other highlights of the car include heated, ventilated, and massaged first- and second-row seats for the six-seat variant. The acoustic system includes 21 speakers. There is also a built-in 7.7-liter fridge. The Haval GWM H10 offers the Coffee Pilot 3.0 assisted driving system with 27 sensors, including a roof-mounted LiDAR. This system is capable of the Navigate On Autopilot (NOA) function. It allows the car to drive from address to address on its own. However, the driver still needs to monitor the situation. Interior of the GWM H10 The GWM H10 adopts a 1.5-liter petrol-powered engine with a peak power of 123 kW (165 hp). It is paired with a 4-speed DHT and two electric motors for 100 kW (134 hp) in the front and 220 kW (295 hp) in the rear. The system’s combined power output is 440 kW (590 hp). The car speeds up to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. It also has an electronic-mechanical differential lock in the rear axle. The GWM H10 can run up to 232 km (CLTC) on a single charge, thanks to a capacity of 42.8 kWh. Moreover, this pack can be charged with 120 kW at the DC station. It can add 126 km of range in 15 minutes. For clarity, the mentioned BYD Ti7 (Fang Cheng Bao Ti7), a 5-meter SUV with an AWD powertrain, has a 35.6 kWh battery for 190 km of electric range. This pack could be charged with 72 kW DC. What’s more, the GWM H10 slightly undercuts the AWD variant of the plug-in hybrid BYD Ti7 with a price range of 201,800 – 223,800 yuan (29,880 – 33,140 USD) with limited-time discounts. The MSRP of the GWM H10 is 209,800 – 231,800 yuan (31,065 – 34,320 USD).
